Seniors: $2500 CLEO EDGE Summer Institute Scholarship

CLEO, the Council on Legal Education Opportunity, Inc., is pleased to announce that they will award a $2500 CLEO EDGE Pre-Law Scholarship to 24 participants of the 2019 Pre-Law Summer Institute (PLSI).

For those college seniors interested in attending law school in fall 2019, CLEO’s Pre-Law Summer Institute prepares students for the rigors of the first year of law school. The application closes March 30. Scholarship winners will be announced in mid-April. Successful applicants will have a minimum 2.7 GPA and have a demonstrated financial need.

As one of the nation’s most respected and recognized organizations supporting diversity in legal education, CLEO’s mission for the past 50 years has been to expand opportunities for persons from traditionally under-represented racial and ethnic groups, low-income, and disadvantaged communities” and promote their successful entry into the legal profession.

June 2018 LSAT Prep Course Scholarship – March 2nd Deadline!

The Multnomah Bar Association’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee seeks to foster and expand diversity in the Multnomah County legal community. To achieve this goal, the committee awards scholarships for LSAT preparation courses to law school applicants whose future involvement in the law will enhance the diversity of our bench and bar.

The application is open to any law school applicant now attending college in the state of Oregon or Vancouver, Washington, or who has other substantial ties to the state of Oregon.

Prep courses for the June 11, 2018 LSAT will begin in mid-April and involve 6 – 8 weeks of classes.  With this timeframe in mind, the Diversity and Inclusion Committee asks that all applications be submitted by Friday, March 2, 2018.  Applicants should email their completed applications to mbalsat@mbabar.org or send them by regular mail to:

$10,000 Law School Scholarship Opportunity

BARBRI Law Preview and the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity have partnered to offer a $10,000 scholarship to help a student pay for the first year of law school.

“One Lawyer Can Change the World” Scholarship details:

  • Complete your scholarship application online.
  • Submit a 500-word essay or less online by April 15, 2018, in response to:
    How you hope to use your law degree to change our world and how would $10,000 towards your 1L tuition change your world?
  • 10 finalists will be selected by Law Preview panelists and will be notified on or before April 25, 2018.
  • Finalists will be announced on lawpreview.com soon after.
  • The $10,000 scholarship recipient will be chosen by Law Preview, and the award will be paid directly to his or her law school. Notification will take place on or before June 10, 2018.

LSAT Prep Scholarship Available

financing_law_schoolThe Equality and Diversity Committee of the Multnomah Bar Association is awarding scholarships for law school applicants who will enhance diversity in Oregon’s legal community. The scholarships will be applied toward a private LSAT preparation course.

Applicants should submit the application by Friday, March 4, 2016, to ensure consideration.
