Spring 2020 Pre-Law Advising Update – UPDATE 5/29

There have been questions and concerns about how the COVID-19 pandemic may affect different aspects of the law school application preparation and admissions processes for students. If you have additional questions or would like to talk through your options, please feel free to schedule an appointment. We are still here to support you through this process. You can schedule an appointment with Kris Katkus (Office of Academic Advising) or Elirissa Hui (Tykeson College and Career Advising – Public Policy, Society and Identity Flight Path) to talk about your options or questions you may have. Free Law School Prep Program Offered This Summer

Lex Scholars LogoLexScholars is offering free in-person law school prep programs for students planning to enter law school in Fall 2022. LexScholars participants will benefit from access to various resources, including LSAT preparation; law school admission counseling; financial education; wellness training; and writing skills development. There are no costs associated with LexScholars. Some participants will receive stipends and other financial aid.

The 2020 application cycle is now open! All required materials must be submitted by April 1. Applicants selected for the program will be notified via email by April 15.

Free Digital LSAT Practice Simulations!

Interested in getting more acquainted with the digital format of the LSAT exam? LSAC offers LSAT simulations to get some practice with the digital format. You can find two free digital LSAT simulations using the links below. As always, there is also a range of free, official LSAT prep materials, including practice exams, through Khan Academy.

Oregon Law Fall Events

Emerging Land Issues in Indian Country – 10/25/2019

On October 25, 2019, the Indian Law Section of the Oregon State Bar will host a CLE entitled: Emerging Land Issues in Indian Country at the University of Oregon School of Law.

The panels will deal with natural resource development, climate change, timber cases, treaty rights, and the native outdoor recreation industry.

The event will also feature a panel with author and activist Rebecca Nagle, who will talk about the Carpenter v. Murphy case pending before the U.S. Supreme Court and her hit podcast This Land. Cost is $60. RSVP here!
